Background:

Recent high profile tragedies have highlighted the need for increased awareness of health and safety rights and responsibilities for new Canadians where literacy/language is a barrier. This program is offered as part of the B.C. Federation of Labour’s efforts to increase safety for the most vulnerable workers in our province.

The program is unique in Canada, and has been successfully running for the past 6 years in BC. This program is coordinated and delivered by the BCFED Health & Safety Centre (a division of the B.C. Federation of Labour) with funding from BC’s Workers’ Compensation Board (WorkSafe BC).
